Notes from our last meeting on Sept. 19, 2 months ago, at Tolkienmoot XVI. Thanks Brian!
1. Our founder, Hawke Robinson, welcomed our audience, and gave a little introduction about the purpose of the Tolkien Society and our sister event happening the same day (Tolkienmoot).
2. Brian introduced each of the panel speakers with a brief bio.

This year's panelists for Tolkienmoot XVI, The Rise of Numenór (Elros Tar-Minyatur to Tar-Aldarion):

John Garth
Dr. David Russell Mosley
Shawn E. Marchese
Sarah Zama

The following questions were discussed:

1. What were the influences on J.R.R. Tolkien that led to him writing an "Atlantis myth" for Middle-earth?
2. Within Tolkien's legendarium, what special purpose or niche does Andor (the Land of Gift) and the newly-ennobled Edain play in Arda?
3. What fascinates you about the early years of the realm of Numenór?
4. If Amazon's Lord of the Rings Prime project starts in the early Second Age, what would you like to see brought to the big screen of this time period?
5. What's Sauron up to at this time in Middle-earth history?

Break--John Garth apologized and left early

Meeting resumed: A moment of silence in memory of Christopher Tolkien (1924-2020)
6. Questions from the Audience
7. What question or comment do you have for each other or in general, about the Rise of Numenor?
8. Now that we are in a new era of Tolkien's legacy, what makes you hopeful that his stories will endure?
9. What projects are you working on or following?
10. Conclusion and Thanks.
